KNX

We are certified KNX PARTNER.

KNX is the only international open standard designed specifically for home and building automation, which has more than 25 years of experience.

It is an OPEN standard, which does not depend on any manufacturer. The main manufacturers of devices for home and building automation bet on KNX. This means that a KNX installation can have devices from several different manufacturers, but all of them are fully compatible with each other.

KNX is a very STRONG and RELIABLE system, which can be applied both in small installations (apartments, single-family houses), and in more complex installations (offices, shopping centres, smart buildings).

Another advantage to be taken into account is that this standard is not based on a central brain on which the entire installation depends, which if it fails will render it completely useless, but each device has its own intelligence.

A KNX installation is fully SCALABLE. It allows a very easy future growth, as any new component can be connected directly to the existing installation.

KNX worldwide standard

  • KNX is an international standard.
  • KNX is an open system, independent of any product manufacturer.
  • There are more than 400 manufacturers of KNX products in more than 35 countries.
  • The compatibility between KNX products and applications of different manufacturers is guaranteed by the required certification.
  • KNX is free of any kind of canon.
  • Any KNX installation is scalable, allowing future extensions in a simple way.
  • High quality product. ISO 9001 is mandatory for all KNX manufacturers.
  • The design, implementation and configuration of every KNX installation is done by a single tool, called ETS (Engineering Tool Software), which is independent of the application and the manufacturer.
  • KNX can be used for any application: lighting, air conditioning, blinds, energy management, security, control of appliances, audiovisuals...
  • KNX adapts to different types of buildings, regardless of their size: residential, commercial, offices... Both new and existing buildings.
  • KNX supports several transmission media, both wired and wireless: twisted pair (TP), power line (PL), Ethernet (IP) and radio frequency (RF)
  • KNX can be attached to other systems: DALI, Modbus, BACnet...
  • KNX is GREEN, allowing energy savings of up to 50%.

Vivienda inteligente KNX

Smart homes

By definition, an "intelligent home" is much easier, safer and simpler to operate than a conventional home, because it takes care of even human errors, such as leaving lights on, taps opened, air conditioning connected, windows opened, etc.

We often refer to them as "accessible housing" as they are especially suitable for sensitive population sectors such as the elderly, different types and degrees disabled people, etc.

The integrated intelligent functions allow to simplify the installation and to minimize the number of mechanisms, buttons, tubes and cables.

For example, for a blind or awning to go from automatic to manual mode, it is not necessary to find the menu where to do it. Just operate it and the house puts it in manual mode without having to do anything else.

Why is smart housing so convenient?

It is a distributed control system

There is no "Central Domotic".
The risk of the whole system collapsing in the case of a breakdown is eliminated. The layout has numerous little gadgets strategically distributed that control the different elements such as lights, blinds, radiators, etc. Communicated between them by means of a cable bus that is the "marrow of the nervous system of the house", and allows that all the elements work coordinated.
Necessary wiring is minimized.
Even if the installation is equipped with the highest features, the necessary cables are no different from those of a conventional installation.
Total scalability.
If new functions need to be added which require the installation of more control devices, more logical power, etc. it would be enough to join them to the bus cable of the image and add them in the ETS project. This gives total freedom to the owners if in the future they wish to join two rooms or add new control elements.
It greatly reduces maintenance costs.
In case of failure, it would only be necessary to replace the specific device that controls a small number of elements such as blinds or lights in a room, a valve or any other.

It is standard

There are thousands of products from over 400 worldwide manufacturers.
This allows the user to choose freely according to their needs, preferences and budget.
Maintenance guarantee.
The KNX certified product logo guarantees that the goods have been subjected to exhaustive hardware and software tests that ensure their operation and compatibility and that the manufacturers incorporate the ISO 9000 standard guaranteeing their quality.
Guarantee of spare parts in the market.
In the case that a component of the system has been discontinued over time and is damaged, there will always be a replaceable element.
Interoperability between different technologies.
This means that, for example, an Alarm Centre, a thermostat (which simultaneously controls the radiators and the air conditioning), a stereo, the blinds or the lights, or any other controlled element, are going to be able to "understand" each other to carry out functions coordinated among all of them in case of leaving the house (activating the Centre), a fire or a robbery attempt, etc.
Reduction of programming costs and possible further modifications.
This is possible because, thanks to its standard character, most of the components are programmed simultaneously from the same software called ETS (Engineering Tool Software).
